A Nigerian Turkish Nizamiye- 55 bed hospital is about to throw its doors open to indigenes of the FCT and beyond.
Taking our correspondent round the premises of the hospital on an inspection tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Mustapha Ahsen, said the Turks are collaborating with Nigerians to offer general medicine to the public.
He said the hospital has engaged the services of 12 Turks consultants and eight Nigerian doctors along with nurses and laboratory technicians to offer specialized care to Nigerians.
The hospital also boasts of four modern operating theatres, with latest innovations and equipment, three ICU bed, central oxygen unit and a central cooling system.
Ahsen, a general surgeon, said the hospital plans to train and equip Nigerian doctors and health professionals on up to date practice in the field of medicine.
He said “health is something we’re professional about so we decided to embark on this venture to provide qualitative health care services to people.”
The CMD disclosed that the hospital which evolved from its parent company in Turkey, with other six hospitals specialize in heart surgery adding that it intends to embark on the specialized field when the new hospital takes off in future.
He said this initiative would also help to curb the country’s medical tourism so that Nigerians seeking health treatment outside the shores of the country would look inwards and seek treatment at home.
“We intend to pull traffic here when we open,” Ahsen added
